The St. John’s University College Electrical Engineering course covers the design, manufacture, installation and management of various appliances and installation that generate or use electrical energy such as coal power station where chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy.
The School of Engineering at the Hatfeld City College is recognized for the quality of its graduates. Our graduates have proceeded to excellent industrial and government careers, not only in Gauteng but also nationally and internationally. Our graduates have also continued their education in the most respected Universities and
TUTS in the country.
Mechanical Engineering is the branch of Engineering that deals with design, manufacturing and operation of machinery. As a mechanical engineer you can expect to be involved in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems, be that vehicles, manufacturing plants, industrial machinery or even robotics.
The programme is designed to offer in-depth knowledge and a solid foundation essential for all mechanical engineers. This programme consists of two years theoretical studies and two years’ work integrated learning. The Engineering Program at Hatfield City College strives to develop within students the ability to think analytically and creatively, and to become effective problem solvers.
Civil Engineers plan, design, construct, maintain and recycle the structures in communities such as dams, bridges, roads, buildings, pipelines, railways and tunnels. Civil engineering is also responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of the critical elements which keeps communities functioning, such as transport systems, wastewater treatment, gas, water and electricity supplies.
