| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
The purpose of this Business Management course is to address the skills shortage in general Business Management functions such as planning, leading, and motivating and control in organizations across South African industries. Topics such as entrepreneurship and the business plan aim to equip students who wish to start their own businesses with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve their dream. This qualification is aimed primarily at giving learners technical, theoretical, practical and workplace knowledge and skills required in their chosen occupational area.
This Business Management qualification, with the practical component, prepares a student well on how to become an entrepreneur and also skilled the student to become a middle level manager in a medium size company. Their knowledge of sales management and labour relations help them to understand the role and functions of management on this level.
